Firefighters Limit Vasco Vegetation Fire to Six-Acres

At 6:23 pm Friday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a vegetation fire on Vasco Road just south of Camino Diablo.

Firefighters responded to a report of 4 small fires along the roadway, however, upon arrival, Battalion Chief 5 reported it was a 3-to-5-acre fire that was wind driven.

Along with all three East Contra Costa fire engines, East Bay Regional Park District fire, Alameda County Fire also responded with CALFIRE assisting with air support and were able to limit the fire to six-acres.

No injuries were reported. CHP also assisted with traffic control.
