Firefighters Help Raise $12k for MDA During “Fill the Boot”

Kudos go out to Contra Costa County and their generosity as the “Fill the Boot” charity drive this past week raised over $12,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Proceeds will help fund research, provide community services and educate the public on muscular dystrophy and other diseases of the nervous and muscular systems

The event was held at three locations throughout Contra Costa County where firefighters would stand on street corners and passing through drivers would drop money into their boots. The locations included Antioch, Pleasant Hill, and Walnut Creek.
