Updated: Firefighters Limit Marsh Creek Vegetation Fire to 10-Acres

At 4:10 pm Friday, firefighters was dispatched to a report of a vegetation fire in the 12000 block of Marsh Creek Road.

Units dispatched were from CALFIRE, Contra Costa County Fire and East Contra Costa Fire. It was reported that the hillside was on fire after a report of a hot round fired at the shooting range.

By 4:17 pm, Battalion 5 reported smoke showing from Brentwood. CALFIRE arrived on scene reporting 2-3 acres on fire.

By 4:37, the fire was around 10-acres and 40% contained.

By 4:54 pm, the fire was 90% contained and forward progress was stopped.

Update
As of 5:33 pm, the fire was deemed out and crews were in mop up.

After Morgan Territory fire, people are still allowed to shoot in this weather? Only in East County. So angering.

This was a odd fluke situation. The Sheriff’s Dept has been shooting out there for years.
