At 3:24 pm Friday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District was dispatched to a report of a fire on Vasco Road.
While responding, Engine 59 reporting smoke showing and requested Alameda County Fire also respond. Upon arrival, they located a 1-acre vegetation fire.
By 3:51 pm, Engine 59 was released from the scene as Alameda County Fire had the incident contained to approximently 2-3 acres.

Someone is setting fires again.
Uh no, those fires along the roadway are started by people throwing their cigarette out of their windows while driving. And on windy days, it doesn’t take long to start a brush fire that can lead to lots of destruction.
Also, Contra Costa has failed to spray weeds too.
Their excuse is they had no one certified or qualified after the last person left. Sad because beautiful Vasco is a dump hole for anyone. You would think a Billion Dollar budget who provide decent services to it’s taxpayers.
