At 10:10 pm Saturday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District firefighters were dispatched to a report of a vegetation fire in the area of Byron Hot Springs Road at Holey Road in the Town of Bryon.
At the time of the report, the vegetation fire was the size of a truck and growing. With the fire being in the “threat zone”, CALFIRE was also dispatched as a precaution.
By 10:26 pm, Battalion 5 reported the fire was 1/4 acre with the fire being wind driven.
Update
By 10:33 pm, forward progress on the fire was stopped and was still estimated at around 1/4 acre.
