Firefighters Battle Roadside Fire Along Highway 4 in Bay Point

At 2:31 pm Tuesday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters were dispatched to a report of several fires in the area of westbound Highway 4 near Willow Pass Road in Bay Point.

Crews arrived on scene and located two separate fire and requested additional wild land fire units. This started as an exterior fire that became a vegetation fire.

As of 3:05 pm, the fire was estimated at 2-acres with access issues. A CALFIRE response was requested.

As of 3:20 pm, 1 suspect was in custody. The first fire was contained to a half-acre. The second fire was just under 2-acres.
