Firefighters Battle 5-Acre Vegetation Fire on Marsh Creek Road

At 1:40 am Wednesday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a vegetation fire on Marsh Creek Road near Round Valley in unincorporated Brentwood.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find two acres of grass burning downhill with a threat to at least one structure.

According to Battalion Chief Jeff Burris, firefighters began a fire attack and ultimately saved the structure while the fire burned a total of 5-acres.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by CALFIRE.
