East Contra Costa County is a step closer to knowing who they may potentially be voting for in local races as the deadline to file came and went Friday with few extensions being granted.
In Antioch, 16 candidates pulled papers, however, just 10 decided to file official paperwork.
Meanwhile, the Cities of Oakley and Pittsburg’s filing period has been extended until Wednesday due to Carol Rios (Oakley) and Nancy Parent (Pittsburg) are not seeking reelection.
The City of Brentwood, had two qualified candidates for two seats, they will likely not have an election for city council and should be appointing both Steve Barr and Joel Bryant to four-year terms.
One school board race to watch is the Brentwood Union School District who has 8 candidates in a District that has dealt with accusations of child abuse, lack of mandated reporting, and parents protesting against special needs kids.
