by ECT
Rep Mark DeSaulnier

Event will Provide Local Federal Workers and Residents with Resources and Information

Walnut Creek, CA – Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (CA-11) announced that he will host an emergency town hall on the Trump Shutdown this Saturday, January 19th at 2:00 p.m. in Lafayette.

The shutdown has left 37,000 hardworking California families without a paycheck, increased wait times at airports and jeopardized air safety, closed our national parks, put tax returns at risk, and put millions of families at risk of losing or seeing reduced food assistance.

This emergency town hall will serve as an opportunity to provide residents and federal workers with the latest on the Trump Shutdown. Additionally, local organizations will be on hand to assist federal workers or those who may be impacted by the shutdown. This will be Congressman DeSaulnier’s 75th town hall and mobile district office hour since coming to Congress four years ago.

Shouldn’t he be in DC working to pass a budget that the President will sign?

Let’s call it what it really is Desaulnier;

The Pelosi Shut Down, while demos vacation fully paid

She wants to fly off first class for a pr tour outside the US while still getting paid for a week. This leaves the rest of the non paid pounding salt. Desaulnier is part of that santuary open lawless border crowd. Sadly he still gets paid while the people he represents pound salt.

Jerry Jan 19, 2019 - 8:07 am

Actually JG, Mitch McConnell is keeping the shutdown going. And the border is all of a sudden lawless? You’re disrespecting our federal law enforcement saying they’re inadequate? You must be mad because your orange daddy Trump can’t go golfing right now. Don’t act like you care about the people “pounding salt”. We know our president doesn’t care about anyone who isn’t a millionaire. Wake up and get off your knees.

This is your shutdown Bubba, give Trump his wall. You all are POS.

Mark Kiernan Jan 18, 2019 - 9:53 am

Mitch McConnell had a deal with with Trump it was all agreed to keep the government up and running, then the blond bimbo Anne Coulter had a fit and Trump reneged on the deal. Do you let your wife intimidate you like that? Who exactly is the POS?. I think it’s the guy who can’t keep his end up because a loud mouth chick has his gonads in a vice, you all need a reality check, or is being a cuck your standard of manhood?.

Dawn Jan 18, 2019 - 6:42 pm

Anne Coulter is not married to President Trump. Yes! I intimidate my husband when the situation calls for it. I am a LOUDMOUTH chick and he simmers down! He knows that I can take half of what we built together and he will go “from dollars to donuts.” So there!

PLEASE work proactively with a NEW plan to pay a billion dollars each year to pay for border patrol and asylum specialists and attorneys.

A FIVE YEAR PROGRAM at a billion a year would serve this country far better. It would employ many thousands of people permanently — instead of wall builders who will lose their jobs after the wall is built

I believe this would show the trump groupies that our party really does have great ideas that will do what they want and create tens of thousands of permanent jobs!!!!

So – the DEM party needs to get behind this kind of thing — instead of a wall, fund salaries for Americans and substantially increase border security across all the border with people, not a wall that can be tunnelled under.

Lola Saavedra Jan 18, 2019 - 7:00 pm

We must get those walls finished. Most of them are already up. Take a trip to the border and see. I email and call the congressman’s office demanding that Congress OK the $5+ million to complete the project. Also, to hire more border guards to apprehend the illegal invaders BEFORE they set food on our soil.

Jerry Jan 19, 2019 - 8:03 am

It’s $5 Billion, not Million. And “invaders”…? Come on. Lola you’re as white washed as tube socks.
You have an “invader” name. Lola Saavedra sounds like a dangerous foreigner name, probably from a devil-worshipping, communist, mysterious land. You should be lucky your grandpa wasn’t lynched before he could have kids knowing how our countries past was.

Lola Saavedra Jan 19, 2019 - 11:57 pm

Jerry! Jerry! Jerry! What’s in a name? You think I’d use my real name online? Are you kidding! My great-great-great-great-great grandfather came here eons ago! He did fabulously well, I might add. What about yours?

Jerry Jan 20, 2019 - 7:56 am

So then he was white, cool. Mine did fine as well.
There’s a lot in a name. Mohammad is the most common name in the world, but I’m sure we’ll never have a president with that name right? Or one with the surname Gonzalez, or Nguyen. But I’m sure you think people with those names aren’t American right?

Jerry Jan 18, 2019 - 7:05 pm

International terrorists by majority come through airports. And ironically airport defense is down because the shutdown. Undocumented immigration has also been steadily declining every year since 2000. Plus, most drugs come into the country through underground tunnels and on the waterways not over the land border. I think Trump invested his own money for it already, that’s why he’s so adamant about it. He’s afraid to have another failed business plan on his resume.

Tammy Jan 19, 2019 - 11:53 pm

For having “failed” business plans, Trump sure has done well!

Roberto Jan 19, 2019 - 6:45 pm

So, Jerry

What do you think about the generous offer by Trump?
800 million for humanitarian, 2000 more border personnel, 3 year DACA extension, etc. Pelosi is off sipping wine and havin great time outside the US while you are still pounding salt.
Pelosi and her socialists say no to a great deal while government workers and the rest of the shutdown nation pound salt. Demo Socialists are killing this country. You Jerry are one of them unless you negotiate.

Jerry Jan 20, 2019 - 7:50 am

Yea, that amount for humanitarian but 7x that amount to build the wall…? Typical republicans. Just like we never have enough money for homeless veterans, but plenty for more missiles, jets, etc.!

“Generous offer by Trump”. Get off your knees Roberto, that orange, spoiled, draft dodging, Scrooge-incarnate doesn’t give a damn about this country or anyone in your tax bracket. Get over it.

Jg Jan 21, 2019 - 8:37 am

So your answer to Roberto is no answer. That pretty much sums up the demos solution. Nothing but BS.
Stop suckling Pelosi. She should focus on feces and needles in public areas.
