Update: EBRPD Police Says Suspect in Assault Now in Custody

by ECT

The East Bay Regional Park District Police Department is seeking assistance from the public to identify the female suspect of an aggravated assault this morning within Anthony Chabot Regional Park.

About 10:25 this morning, a female jogger had defended herself against a dog attack with pepper spray. Upon the female jogger’s return, she was accosted by the dog’s owner on the Goldenrod Trail between the Chabot Equestrian Center and the Oakland City Stables in Oakland.

The assailant tackled and punched the victim multiple times. As the victim attempted to push her assailant off of her, she was bitten on her forearm by the female, causing significant wounds. Based on the nature and severity of the crime, police are asking the public’s assistance to help identify this female pictured above.

The assailant appeared to have been mixed race (white/Asian) female, between 18-25 years old, 5’06” with a thin build and blond or auburn colored hair. The assailant was in the company of two dogs. One dog was a possible Rottweiler mix and the other dog was a medium/large yellow or tan colored dog.

UPDATE:

The suspect was identified as Alma Cadwalader, a 19-year old female from Oakland and she is now in custody.

Those trails, along with other park-like setting, should have security cameras all over.

Bites can pose a serious health risk. They need to find that bi*ch and test her. She could be rabid and may need to be put down.?

She should have pepper sprayed the woman. That being said I hope they track this sub human piece of garbage down and throw her in jail, shouldn’t be too hard for some bright detectives. It’s unfortunate that people can’t go anywhere without having to be prepared for possible violence but that’s the world we live in, too bad the jogger didn’t have a CCW permit, I never go out hiking any of the Bay Area park trails without a weapon, there’s Coyotes and Mountain Lions and yes crazy people out there.

Dudes. Back to report-writing school with you! Take a really close look at how you’ve labeled the two humans and the one dog in this case:

“The East Bay Regional Park District Police Department is seeking assistance from the public to identify the –>femalefemalefemaledog’s ownerassailantvictimvictimhersheherfemalefemale<–pictured above."

Because of this, the average reader is going to wonder if the dog was a female? Did the dog bite the woman? Or did the woman bite the woman, and which woman exactly was that?

Suggested rewrite, my changes ALL CAPS, with deletions marked []:

"The East Bay Regional Park District Police Department is seeking assistance from the public to identify THE suspect IN an aggravated assault this morning within Anthony Chabot Regional Park.

About 10:25 this morning, a female jogger [] defended herself against a dog attack with pepper spray. Upon the jogger’s return TO THE AREA LATER, she was accosted by the ATTACKING dog’s owner, ALSO A FEMALE, on the Goldenrod Trail between the Chabot Equestrian Center and the Oakland City Stables in Oakland.

The DOG'S OWNER tackled and punched the FEMALE JOGGER multiple times. As the JOGGER attempted to push her assailant AWAY FROM HER, THE JOGGER was bitten on her forearm by the DOG'S OWNER [or, if that was the case THE DOG], causing significant wounds. Based on the nature and severity of the crime, police are asking the public’s assistance to help identify the DOG OWNER pictured above."
