East County Police Departments Participate in Special Olympics Torch Run

by ECT

Officers from across East Contra Costa County participated in a leg of the Special Olympics Torch Run from Brentwood to Pittsburg on Tuesday which began shortly after 6:00 am.

The Torch began at the Brentwood Police Department and made its way through downtown Brentwood and up Brentwood Blvd before making its way to Oakley Police who were staged at Freedom High School.

From Freedom, Oakley Police Officers ran the torch down Norely to Main Street where Antioch Police were staged at McDonalds on Main Street and Birdgehead.

From there, Antioch Police carried the torch down East 18th to Pittsburg Police officers waiting at Auto Center.

The torch will continue its eastbound journey along I-80 to UC Davis, which is the site of the 2015 Special Olympics Summer Games that is set to take place from June 26-28, 2015.

Here are a few photographs with us borrowing the Pittsburg Police photo from their FB page.
