Here is a look at this weeks events going on in East Contra Costa County for the weekend of June 26 and beyond which includes the Friday night Brentwood Summer Concert Series with “Juke Joint.” On Sunday, Brownstone Gardens is hosting a Open House Photo Day where guests can come use the grounds for summer photographs.


 

June 26: Starry Nights in Brentwood Summer Concert Series
This Starry Nights in Brentwood Summer Concert will feature “Juke Joint”.  Juke Joint specializes in classic soul and R&B.

The concert will be held in City Park, located at 710 Second Street in Brentwood.  The show will begin at 7 p.m.  All patrons are asked to follow park rules before, during, and after the concerts.  No dogs, no glass containers, and no audio/video recording devices allowed.  Ample parking is available in the parking garage.

Bring your blanket, chairs, and a picnic dinner and enjoy this FREE event

 


 

Victory OutreachJune 26 & June 27:  Victory Outreach Event

 

Victory Outreach Antioch Church is having a crusade on June 26th and June 27th at Antioch High School.

We are showing two live on stage dramas, one each nite. I have attached our flyer for your review. We will host a car show and bbq on the 26th from 2pm-4pm to the community.

Brentwood-Farmers-MarketJuly 27: Brentwood Farmers Market

The Brentwood Farmers’ Market on is open on Saturday from 8am to 12pm, Oak St. and First St.  New this year – they have expanded around the corner onto Oak St.

The season will run from March 7, 2015 to November 21, 2015.

Oakley-Mulch

June 27: Oakley: Free Mulch Available

Need some wood chips/mulch for your landscaping?  Wood chips will once again be available for pick-up tomorrow, June 27th from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the City Yard at the corner of Neroly Road and Main Street (entrance on Neroly). Residents need to bring their own tools/shovels and bags/containers to load and carry the mulch, and a tarp to cover if necessary. The wood chips are being offered for free through a partnership between the City of Oakley, Diablo Water District and West Coast Arborists, Inc. (WCA).


 

June 27: You Me We = Oakley Citizenship Drive
You, Me, We = Oakley is scheduled to host a Citizenship Drive on Saturday June 27 at Oakley City Hall in order to assist applicants commence in naturalization process to become US Citizens. Participants will be screened for eligibility and have a volunteer fill out their applications and be placed in the appropriate English/Civics exam preparation course. June 27: Delta River Cats Fundraiser
The Delta River Rats, a local youth roller hockey league, will be hosting a craft fair this Saturday, June 27th at Antioch Indoor Sports Center to help raise funds for the end of season tournament. The event is located at 1210 Sunset Dr in Antioch and will be held between 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. There will be an e-waste drop, batting cages, snack bar and many local vendors.


 

Brownstone Gardens Photo DayJune 28: Brownstone Garden Open House Photo Day
Join Brownstone Gardens on from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm for their Open House Photo Day.  Bring your kids, people friendly pets and your own photographers and enjoy our back drops for an afternoon of fun photos! Furry-FriendsJune 28: Fundraiser for Furry Friends Food Relief and K911

Do you love Spaghetti Feeds? June 28 starting at 3:00-7:00pm at Improved Order of Redmen Erie Tribe #281, 1403 Main Street, Oakley. All proceeds will be split 50/50 with Furry Friends Food Relief Program and K911.

Admission at the door – $12.00 for a plate of spaghetti with all the fixins. Come enjoy a good old fashioned spaghetti feed.
We’re serving spaghetti, green salad, garlic bread and desserts

There will be Raffle items as well, come and have some fun!!

FOOD FIGHT!!! FFFR vs K911 will be taking this fight outside!

Celebrate-Antioch2July 4: Celebration Antioch 4th of July Celebration

Join the Celebration Antioch Foundation for a day of celebrating this nations birthday with a downtown parade that begins at 3:00 pm followed by fun at

the Contra Costa County Fairgrounds with family friendly entertainment including live entertainment, Kidz Zone with rides, car show, craft and food vendors and fireworks.

If you have little to no experience with handguns, this is the class for you. You will learn about the basic safety and responsibilities that come with owning and operating a handgun. This class teaches general safety rules, range rules, basic gun laws and transportation and storage of a firearm.

July-August: Antioch Free Saturday Summer Concerts Return to Downtown Antioch
Once again Waldie Plaza in downtown Antioch will be the place to be on Saturday nights in July and August (excluding 7/4 due to the holiday) for free concerts by the river. Local bands will provide a variety of music from 6-8 PM in Waldie Plaza, located between G & I Streets (by Antioch City Hall off of 2nd Street).

Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and visit a downtown restaurant before the concert or bring a light meal/snack with you. Wadie Plaza is a designated park and park rules apply (no alcohol, dogs on leash, etc.).

Night-of-HotrodsJuly 18: Knight of the Hotrods
1964 and earlier, American made, traditional styled hot rod and custom car show! Our 8th year of putting on this show in downtown Antioch! Free to all ’64 and earlier hot rods and customs. Free to the public starting at 4-pm at the Riverview Lodge in Antioch.

August 22: Brentwood Bark in the Park
The Brentwood Advisory Neighborhood Committee, BANC, will be sponsoring our Bark in the Park event for the third year on Aug 22, 2015 in Brentwood City Park on the corner of Oak St. and 2nd Street. Registration begins at 9am and the parade begins at 10am. Costumes are permitted but not required.
