East Contra Costa Firefighters Limit Vegetation Fire to 4 Acres

by ECT

At around 7:00 pm Friday night, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a vegetation fire in the 12000 block of Marsh Creek Road.

At the time of arrival, the fire was estimated about a 1/2 acre with potential to increase. Air support was called in which began making air drops in the area to prevent spread and with both crews on the ground and air support, the fire was limited to just under 4-acres.

Somebody is setting these fires! More vigilance is needed! This practice might accelerate with the weather getting warmer and drier.
