East Contra Costa Firefighters Battling Vegetation Fire Along Marsh Creek Road

At 1:39 pm Friday, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District firefighters were dispatched to a report of a vegetation fire in the area of Highway 4 and Marsh Creek Road.

The fire was reported to be grass on fire near an electrical box off the side of the road.

As of 1:46 pm, Battalion Chief 5 arrived on scene reporting the fire was burning in the canal and was at 1/8 of an acre.

Crews are still on scene as of 1:57 mopping up the incident as the fire was reportedly knocked down.
