East Contra Costa Fire Average Response Time in April at 8:31 Minutes

The East Contra Costa Fire Protection District will report this week at their monthly meeting that in the month of April, they had 535 service calls with an average response time of 8:31 minutes.

In the month of March, the District ran 618 calls with a response time of 8:19 minutes. In calendar year 2019, the District has an average response time of 8:19 minutes for 7,679 calls and in 2018 had a time of 8:16 minutes for 7,719.

During the month of April, the District responded to 0 residential structure fires, 1 commercial structure fire, 0 vehicle fires, 1 large vehicle fires, 4 vegetation fire and 20 exterior fires. The District also responded to 17 vehicle crashes with an additional 6 requiring rescue. They also had 1 vehicle vs. pedestrian calls, 2 motorcycle crashes, and 4 bicycle accident.

According to the District, here is a breakdown of the Calls for Service by Station in the month of January:

  • Engine 52 (Brentwood) ran 40% of the calls for service rolling out of the station 253 times
  • Engine 53 (Oakley) ran 38% of the calls for service rolling out of the station 245 times.
  • Engine 59 (Discovery Bay) ran 14% of the calls for service rolling out of the station 88 times.
  • Auto Aid assisted in 5% of the calls for 32 rollouts.
  • CALFIRE assisted in 3% of the calls for 20 rollouts.
  • Mutual Aid received assisted in 0% of the calls for 1 rollout.

Average Response Time by Service Area:

  • Bethel Island – 13:54 Minutes (41 calls)
  • Discovery Bay/Byron – 10:45 Minutes (56 calls)
  • Marsh Creek – 8:54 Minutes (18 calls)
  • Knightsen – 9:57 Minutes (24 calls)
  • Brentwood – 7:58 minutes (251 calls)
  • Oakley – 6:59 Minutes (145 calls)

In the month of April, the District received auto aid from Contra Costa Fire 32 times with them sending a total of 42 engines with 14 arriving on scene. Meanwhile the District sent CONFIRE auto aid 15 times for 17 engines which 5 arrived on scene.
