Here is a look at the local tree lighting celebrations that will be occurring this week around East Contra Costa County.
Thursday, Dec 5
Bay Point – Join the community of Bay Point as they host their winter holiday at the Ambrose Recreation & Park District! The annual Holiday Tree Lighting will occur on Thursday, December 5th at 6pm located at 3105 Willow Pass Road
Friday, Dec. 6
Brentwood – Join the City of Brentwood at City Park in downtown Brentwood for their annual Christmas Tree Lighting event. The festivities start at 6:00 pm which includes music, singing and a visit from Santa Claus. By 7:00 pm, the official lighting of the tree will occur. Hot chocolate and cookie will be provided. This free event is sponsored by the Brentwood Neighborhood Committee (BNC) and the City of Brentwood. More info
Campos Family Vineyards – Join the Campos Family Vineyard (3501 Byer Rd, Byron) as they host their 4th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting. The event will include wine, food, and family fun including hot chocolate and coffee. More info
City of Pittsburg – Join the City of Pittsburg at John Buckley Square for their Tree Lighting Ceremony beginning at 5:00 pm with the tree lighting at 5:30 pm. Enjoy a cup of coffee or hot cocoa courtesy of Steeltown Coffee. More info
Saturday, Dec. 7
City of Antioch – the Celebrate Antioch Foundation presents its Holiday Delights Celebration which has a series of events throughout the day. Here is a look at the schedule which occurs downtown on 2nd Street:
- 12:00 pm – Christmas Craft Fair (until 6:00 pm)
- 12:00 pm – Winter Wine Walk (until 4:00 pm)
- 4:00 pm – Lighted Parade on 2nd Street. Christmas Tree Lighting & Santa Visit following the parade.
Tree lighting, live entertainment, and visits with Santa will take place at Waldie Plaza
Discovery Bay – join the Town of Discovery Bay for their 17th Annual Discovery Bay Parade-of-Lights & Tree Lighting Ceremony. The theme for the event is Holiday Movies and begins at 3:00 pm… here is a list of the event schedule:
- 3:00pm-5:30pm: Visit with Santa at Discovery Bay Marina
- 4:00pm-5:30pm: Parade Staging & First Judging at Marina
- 6:00pm: Parade Starts!
- 7:30pm-8:30pm: Discovery Bay Lions’ Tree Lighting

City of Oakley – Join the City of Oakley as they host their Christmas Tree Lighting at Civic Center Plaza (3231 Main Street). The event begins at 4:00 pm with caroling, crafts, and cocoa & cookies, followed by the tree lighting at 6 p.m. The city will also provide and opportunity for photographs with Santa. More info.
