Discovery Bay Package Thief Caught in the Act

by ECT

A Discovery Bay resident has provided photographs of a package thief caught in the act taking a package from the porch of their home in broad daylight.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, April 5 on Discovery Bay Blvd. just after 2:00 pm.

According to the tipster, it appears the male walked up from Cornell Park and headed back through the park with the package. The surveillance camera captured the incident and provided the photographs (see above).

No vehicle info was available, however, a white Ford F150 that was missing the front bumper and without front or rear plates had been in the area.

If you know this suspect, contact the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office.

Tracking numbers are sent for a reason. This is easily avoidable.

Wrong….that is a very douchy way of looking at it. You come off like it was the homeowner’s fault. The stunk eye belongs on the scumbag p.o.s. that trespassed and stole the delivery.

Exactly just because you get a tracking number still doesn’t mean you what time the package will arrive. Also UPS, FedX, P.O. will just ring your bell and leave the package on the front porch. A crook will strike quickly before you realize anything is missing.

Well said Jennifer,

Of course it’s the thieves fault. But tracking numbers give you the opportunity to know what day the package is coming, and it’s your responsibility to do something about it. You can have it delivered to work, have a neighbor watch for the package, have it delivered to another address. You can pick the package up yourself. If you don’t get it, you’re irresponsible, and not very bright. You can’t leave packages on the porch all day. PERIOD.

The options you recommend are not feasible for EVERYBODY Nick. Neither is parking your car in a locked garage to avoid auto theft….another thing you told everybody they should do. You are assuming that these alternatives are available to all people all of the time and it is their fault that some scumbag capitalized from their actions. The fact that you ASSume it is the general public’s fault rather than voicing disgust at the low lifes breaking the law says a lot about you. You, sir, are the one who is not very bright….and a douche. Have a good weekend typing away on your computer, hiding in a dark corner of your house. That way you can do your due diligence just in case a potential thief peered through your blinds to see if there are any valuables in your house. Tool.

Nick,

WOW, it’s true: stupid is what stupid does or here what you have stated – words of a true moron.

A scum bag is a scum bag, you here are trying to place the blame on the victim(s) Thus, you are a scum bag too.

No one has the right to take other’s personal property. If it’s on my property it belongs to me, not some scum bag.

Words of wisdom….Get a job!

Nick is correct. I’ve never had packages stolen because I stay on top of tracking numbers too. If you don’t try to take personal responsibility for not setting yourself up-in today’s world you have to take more precautions than ever. I’ve never been victimized. There’s a reason for it. I send my UPS and Fed Ex packages to my parents home. They’re retired, and I’m at work all day. Some people here need to grow up. Most crime can easily be avoided with common sense and good judgment. Law enforcement will tell you the same thing. The truth hurts. Leaving a package on your front porch all day is stupid. You’re setting yourself up. Anybody has the option of having the package held at UPS, Fed Ex, etc. That’s an option for everyone. My son has his packages held while he’s at work. Wise up people.
