Discovery Bay: Man Airlifted to Hospital After Fall from Palm Tree

At 8:01 pm Sunday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to the 5300 block of River Point in the Town of Discovery Bay on a report of a fall victim.

According to the District, a 56-year-old man sustained major trauma after falling from a 20-ft palm tree onto a concrete driveway. The male did lose consciousness for several minutes.

A medical helicopter was requested and the male was transported to John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek.
