Dec. 19: Wreaths Across America Ceremony at Union Cemetery in Brentwood

by ECT

The annual Wreaths Across America ceremonies in more than 2100 cemeteries across our country will be held to honor America’s Veterans on December 19, 2020.

The event at the Union Cemetery in Brentwood is in its 6th year and will look very different from past ceremonies. It will be presented virtually for you to view at 9 a.m. on December 19th.  Anne Loucks Chapter will be working with VFW Post 1351 and various community groups to put together a video with the purpose to honor Veterans of all wars who are buried in this cemetery.  The Wreaths Across America’s mission is to “Remember – Honor – Teach”

In order to follow the cemetery protocols for gatherings, we will have to limit guests by reservation to do the actual wreath-laying on December 19.  There are over 500 Veterans buried at the Union Cemetery.  It is our goal to place a holiday wreath on each Veteran’s grave.

You may make a donation of wreaths online at www.wreathsacrossamertica.org/ca0076 The cost of one wreath is $15 or three wreaths for $30.  The deadline for ordering is November 30, 2020.
