Contra Costa Up to 462 Coronavirus Cases, Update on Senior Living Facility Outbreak

On Wednesday, Contra Costa Health Services announced there are now 462 cases of coronavirus resulting in 7 Deaths.

The county announced Tuesday that Public Health staff are investigating a COVID-19 outbreak at the Carlton Senior Living facility in downtown Pleasant Hill. On Wednesday, the County said the facility in downtown Pleasant Hill had the following cases: 5 residents positive with COVID-19 (up from 4); 11 staff have tested positive (up from 9)

The county says they have provided 6,023 tests and 30 people are currently in the hospital.

Cases by Age:

  • 0-20 years: 13
  • 21-40 years: 144
  • 41-60 years:168
  • 61-80 years: 117
  • 81-100 years: 18

According to the county, 250 women tested positive while 207 men were positive with 5 cases of unknown gender were reported.

On Friday, Health Officer Dr. Chris Farnitano announced that the County is issuing a mass order for residents with COVID-19 and their close contacts to isolate and quarantine themselves.
