Contra Costa Republican Party Calls For Resignation of County Education Leader

PRESS RELEASE

by ECT

Walnut Creek, Calif. The Contra Costa Republican Party is calling for the immediate resignation of Contra Costa County Board of Education member AnaMarie Avila Farias after her comments calling for the boycott of the 4th of July garnered national media attention this week.

The Contra Costa Republican Party has begun circulating a petition for calling for her resignation, that can be found here: https://www.cocorepublicans.com/petitions

“This type of rhetoric is absolutely disgusting,” said Matt Shupe, chairman of the Contra Costa Republican Party. “The greatness in America is that people from all different political persuasions, opinions, perspectives are able to have their voice heard and respected, and at the end of the day, we all love this country, regardless of who the president is or who runs Congress.”

“The fact that Contra Costa County Democrats are basically protesting this country, its foundation, its core, and don’t believe in it anymore, I think speaks more volumes to their very twisted thinking and sad ideology at this point,” Shupe said. “Most Americans don’t want this type of rhetoric in our education system.”

Farias is not up for election until 2024. If Farias does not resign, this petition will be used as a gauge to evaluate the potential of a recall.

Farias is also an elected member of the Democratic Party of Contra Costa County.

Three members of the San Francisco Board of Education were recently recalled for taking similar positions.

Not only does she needs to resign, she needs to relinquish her citizenship. Don’t let a firework hit you in the ass on your way out.
