Contra Costa Firefighters Battle 3-Alarm Vegetation Fire in Martinez

At approximately 3:45 pm Thursday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters responded to a report of a vegetation fire in the area of Pacheco Boulevard and Arthur in the City of Martinez.

The fire required a second alarm response for structure protection and ultimately went three-alarm response with water drops from CALFIRE and Contra Costa County Sheriff Assistance.

As of 5:00 pm, CALFIRE said the fire was estimated between 5-to-10 acres in size with no evacuations required as this time. The fire had a potential for 15-total acres.
