Work begins Monday, July 17, to repair the section of Morgan Territory Road located approximately 1 mile south of Marsh Creek Road in the Clayton area that was damaged during winter storms.
Contra Costa County awarded a contract to Flatiron West, Inc., to do the repair work, with an estimated completion in mid-October.
The repair work includes the installation of two structural retaining walls, excavation and backfill of embankment between the retaining walls, reconstruction of the pavement, drainage improvements, installation of a water main, and pavement striping.
During the construction period, the damaged stretch of Morgan Territory Road will be completely closed to vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists. A temporary, alternate access is available for Morgan Territory residents.
