On July 9, the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff Marine Patrol commissioned two new vessels for service in a ceremony held at Lauritzen Yacht Harbor in Oakley.

The vessels were named after retired members of the Office of the Sheriff – Commander Dale Morrison and Deputy Freddie Reno. Both had a tremendous impact on the Marine Services Unit and boating safety/education in the Delta. The vessels are already in use for a variety of missions that include Delta patrol, homeland security and boating safety.

For more information, including a video of the ceremony, please visit the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Facebook Page.
