Congressman McNerney Joins Contra Costa Firefighters for Dinner

by ECT

Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters hosted Congressman Jerry McNerney for dinner last night at Station 82 last night to talk fire services and help update the Congressman on the current status of the District.

Firefighters provided a tour of the facility while sharing the district map in showcasing just how large the district is and what the coverage area was–they also shared how they assist other local districts within the county.  The Congressman also learned about the day in the life of a firefighter and how much time is actually spent in a station and with ones crew since they are on 48-hr shifts.

They were joined by Chief Daryl Louder and Battalion Chief Al Hartford.

Nice job by the Congressman to show up and see what the firefighters do. To put this in perspective, lets see when the last time a Contra Costa County Supervisor was in a station.
