Congressman DeSaulnier Supports American Rescue Plan

by ECT
Rep Mark DeSaulnier

Washington, D.C. – Congressman DeSaulnier voted to bring much needed pandemic relief to our families and communities through the American Rescue Plan Act (H.R. 1319). The bill passed in the U.S. House of Representatives by a vote of 219-to-212. It now moves to the U.S. Senate for consideration.

“Since the start of this pandemic, my office has heard from thousands of Contra Costa families struggling to make rent, pay their bills, support their children through virtual learning, or keep their small business. This much-needed relief would extend a lifeline to these families and our communities,” said Congressman DeSaulnier. “After months of roadblocks from the Trump Administration, it is a new day with the Biden Administration working with us to get the country on the path to recovery and to emerge even stronger.”

The $1.9 trillion landmark legislation includes:

  • Survival checks of up to $1,400 per person;
  • Extension and expansion of unemployment benefits;
  • $160 billion for the acceleration and expansion of vaccination and testing efforts;
  • Nearly $130 billion to support safely reopening schools, with $15.9 billion expected to go to California; and
  • Relief for the hardest-hit small businesses

The American Rescue Plan Act has broad support, including from nonpartisan economists. Additional information on the bill can be found here

You are a piece of work. Look to your own party and Ms. Pelosi for the failed funding. Attaching Minimum wage and other pet funding projects is a sin and a disgrace. You in congress don’t care about the American people. It is hard to believe you were ever a small business owner. You have become a partisan fool. Look at your record and tell me you haven’t. I know where i came from, you? Your a puppet or a fool for the establishment. You are part of the great divide in this country, you didnt show for the inauguration of president Trump because of politics, and your B.S. continues to spew. You should be ashamed. But your in California, you dont need integrity, you just need the media. Shameful.
