Update: Missing At-Risk Adult Located Walking on Interstate 80

At about 10:00 AM Sunday morning, 82-year-old Javad Shafizadeh left his home in Roundhill for an appointment in Concord.

He has not been heard from or seen since. He did not take his cell phone when he left home.

His car is a 2011 Beige Chevy Equinox with California license plate – 6NSW187, which was last seen in the area of Stone Valley Road near Monte Vista High School. An extensive area check was conducted, but he was not located.

Mr. Shafizadeh is said to be at-risk. Area law enforcement agencies have been notified and the CHP has issued a Silver Alert.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Mr. Shafizadeh is asked to call the Office of the Sheriff at (925) 646-2441.

Update:
The Sheriff’s Office was notified early this morning that Mr. Javad Shafizadeh was located by the CHP walking on Interstate 80. A CHP officer transported Mr. Shafizadeh home.

Why is an “at risk” person allowed to drive? This could be extremely dangerous for the individual and others.

Good question! Who is monitoring the activities of this “at risk” person. Does this person have a DL? Is so, then why?
