Concord Police Arrested Man for Impersonating a Police Officer

The Concord Police Department reported that a man has been arrested for impersonating a police officer.

According to a social media post by Concord Police, they announced that on Monday afternoon, Concord Dispatch received a report of a white sedan with emergency lights activated driving erratically in the Valley District of Concord—the caller believe it to be highly suspicious.

Officers converged on the area and located a Hyundai Accent matching the vehicle description given by the original caller.

When police arrived on scene, the located the vehicle was equipped with emergency lights and siren, and even a “police” marking on the side, but the driver was no police officer. A replica firearm was located on his person along with a radio, badge holder, and handcuffs.

The driver was arrested and the vehicle went to car jail. The name of the man was driver was not released.
