Concord Police Arrest Student Who Allegedly Had Two Loaded Guns on Campus

On February 28, 2018, a Concord Police Department School Resource Officer received a tip that a student on the campus of Olympic High School in Concord might be armed with a firearm.

Several Concord PD Officers located and detained the student.  He was found to have two loaded handguns on his person.

He was arrested without incident and transported to the Concord Police Department Jail.  The investigation did not reveal any plan of violence at the campus or any threat from the suspect towards faculty or students.

According to Lieutenant Mike Kindorf, the suspect has previously been arrested for weapons violations and has previously admitted to being a gang member.

The arrestee has been identified as 18 year old Alejandro Cortes, a resident of Pittsburg.
