Concord Issues Statement on Potential Detention Center at Concord Naval Weapons Station

by ECT

The following release was issued by the City of Concord after reports are coming out that a draft memo for Navy Secretary Richard Spencer describes the potential tent cities as “temporary and austere,” and details plans to build facilities in three states: Alabama, Arizona and California

According to the memo, Concord Naval Weapons Base would hold 47,000 people.

Here is the release:

The City of Concord is very concerned to learn of news reports that the Navy may be planning a detention center at the Concord Naval Weapons Station. The Navy has not communicated information to the City about any such plans, although we have reached out to them upon hearing these reports.

While the City of Concord is currently negotiating to acquire and eventually develop the Naval Weapons Station, we do not have jurisdiction or control over that federally-owned property.

Last September, the City of Concord passed a resolution affirming Concord’s commitment to being a welcoming, inclusive, tolerant and supportive community for all. We do not feel that a detention center within city limits represents those values. We are working with Congressman Mark DeSaulnier, and through him, Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, to gather additional information in order to address this issue.

For more information, please contact:
Congressman Mark DeSaulnier: (925) 933-2660
Bill Franklin, representative, U.S. Navy: (619) 524-5433

Wow, totally blown away by this! I truly hope this doesn’t happen. Concord needs to make sure it NEVER HAPPENS. Why are so many people being detained rather than just sent back their homes? It is hard to believe they would rather be detained and wait for a hearing. What a mess.

Too many of them are mothers escaping their homes with their sons to avoid having local gang conscript them into the gangs at the risk of them and their families being killed if they refuse. When choosing between certain death or violent ends for your child and going to America and risking your child being held by the US Government, I tell you, I’d think my child was safer by orders of magnitude with the worst the US would do. My guess is I’d rather be detained too.

Just like any jail or prison, they profit off they money they get and the money that’s actually spent.

Vp they can’t send them home because our immigration policy allows people who claim sanctuary status to be held until their country of origin is deemed safe to return.

To better connect with the community, I urge every POA and police agency to condone this idea. Were slipping in our own backyard guys…..

Tink about it a little more rather than the “o poor me and my city!” Perspective. 1. This is at the federal level, good luck fighting that. 2. These people are getting minimum 3 meals a day, snacks, television, air conditioning….. somethings that they may never have had before…. its like a hilton stay for them… 3. The main concern i want to stress onnis vaccinations. These people will want to get out… if one does where does he or she work? A restaurant maybe? If this person has a disease like tuberculosis, which is on the rise… this can create a bad spread and quickly…. are these people going to be vaccinated? Just my .02…

I find no truth in what you write.

This is not the biggest issue that this County is facing. Lets fix EBT, Section 8, The hood rat epidemic and Sycamore first. Picking on immigrants is low hanging fruit, lets fix the real problems. Immigrants will always be here to do all the work that FAT Americans dont want to do. Where will all you FAT people eat without workers at McDonalds?

Truth Jun 25, 2018 - 6:50 am

At the McDonald’s employing legal white people. I’m talking bleach white here. I’ll stuff more burgers down my throat than you’ve ever seen. Hear that McDonald’s? More business when you hire people that actually understand English at the order window so i can feel confident I’ll actually get what i ordered. Until then I’ll keep eating at chick-fil-a.

Exactly my point! Jun 25, 2018 - 1:50 pm

I bet you got chick-fil-a wrappers all over the inside of your fat-mobile, try hitting a gym fatty!

Truth Jun 25, 2018 - 6:36 pm

God damn right i do. Because America. Fuck off, we’re full… Get back in line and wait your turn while i scarf more chicken. Nom nom nom

As soon as they hop the fence they will be welcomed by our Sanctuary cities and State. Good luck with anything being done about it. That’s why we need to change California’s government.

Concord should be thankful for any help it can get with population control. Being overrun with illegals, gang members, prostitutes, drug addicts and homeless, that city really has no business trying to stop the government from helping them clean it up. Get real concord. Your city is getting more and more unsavory to even visit much less live in. That’s why i moved out, my friends moved out, and so many others are making a mass exodus to get the hell out of that cesspool of a town. Take a stroll down monument one of these days.

Pay Attention Jun 25, 2018 - 11:32 am

As long as you people vote Pelosi, Newsom, and other career left politicians this will continue. We are the fools at the ballot box for keeping these politicians in office. They only want votes and illegals represent lots of votes. Don’t kid yourself. Not in my backyard is pretty hypocritical when you vote sanctuary or sanctuary politicians. The joke is on the dummy vote.
