CHP Seeks Witnesses to Shooting on Highway 4 Near Bay Point

The California Highway Patrol is seeking witnesses to a shooting involving two vehicles that occurred on Friday, February 28, 2014 at approximately 2:45 PM in the town of Bay Point, CA.

At approximately 2:51 PM, CHP received a call of a hit-and-run collision which occurred on SR-4 Westbound near Willow Pass Road. The victim of the hit-and-run collision related that two vehicles had been involved in a confrontation on the freeway which involved a shooting. As a result of the confrontation, one of the suspect vehicles swerved and collided into the victim. The victim exited the freeway and notified the CHP. The two suspect vehicles fled the scene without stopping.

CHP was then notified that two male subjects had been dropped off at the Contra Costa County Regional Hospital with gunshot wounds. The driver of the vehicle which dropped off the individuals left the scene without providing identification. Due to the nature of their injuries, the individuals were transported to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, CA. One of the individuals suffered moderate injuries as a result of this incident, while the other suffered major injuries.
