One way spikes on the off ramps would stop these types of accidents, that being said the level of intoxication it takes to get on the freeway going the wrong way is high, this is probably a repeat offender, he should be locked up for life, hopefully nobody dies, but I’ve been hit head on and the level of injury is severe with long recovery time and all because another human has lost all grip on reality and his own humanity to the point of getting blotto drunk and becoming a danger to the general public. But this is California and they are more interested in punishing lawful responsible gun owners for political gain rather than deal with those who are truly dangerous individuals. It’s no secret who the drunks of this caliber are, we the people should demand that they are kept off the streets by what ever means necessary.

Well said sir. Great idea on the wrong way spike strips!

I have been saying for years that putting the same spikes used to keep people from entering parking lot exits will end the problem of drivers entering the highway going the wrong way. Old school, low maintenance tried and true. Let’s get this change in place now and save lives

The family he ran into are dear friends of mine. They need everyone’s thoughts and prayers as the father B. Scott and their son Bryce are still in critical condition . A few of their friends including myself have setup a Go Fund me account for the family.

An idea in which to help out. talk to the good people at Dutch Bros. coffee and see if they might want to help with fund raising for the family, they have been known to help out those in a bad way like this family. Good luck and prayers to the family and all that are helping them out in their time of need.

Asking for 1 million dollars is a bit much. Perhaps a less greedy approach?

Conservative does not mean right wing whacko.. Aug 21, 2018 - 9:55 pm

@Mark

Great response. Intelligent and well said.

Up until you went off on the random California/guns rant and “we know who those people are” etc. Completely ruined it. Sounded smart for a second, then went on a whacko right wing political rant that had nothing to do with the article….
This is why most of us Republicans avoid people like you at all costs and have to explain to normal, middle of the road, non-political folks that “no, I’m a fiscal conservative who believes in family values” not one of “those people”.

Not to make light of the situation, but why did they use a tilt-shift perspective on the main photo which makes it look like a a miniature scene? I had to look a few times to figure out what I was looking at.

Nothing will stop drunk drivers until they stop drinking and getting behind the wheel of a car.
