CHP Arrests Concord Man in Connection with I-680 Shooting in Solano County

On Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 9:35AM, California Highway Patrol Officers assigned to the Solano Area were notified of a freeway shooting in the area of northbound Interstate 680, south of Gold Hill Road. Officers located three bullet holes on the right side of the victim’s vehicle.

CHP said the victims were not injured as a result of the shooting.

Detectives from Golden Gate Division CHP assumed the lead on the investigation and identified the suspect vehicle. A search warrant was served, and the suspect was arrested without incident. Daryl Thornton, a 47-year-old from the City of Concord, was booked at the Solano County Jail for attempted murder, shooting at an occupied vehicle and assault with a deadly weapon (firearm).

This shooting is being actively investigated.
