CALTRANS CHP Litter Enforcement Day and Clean-up Week

Oakland – Caltrans and the CHP will work together in a major effort against highway litter Thursday, June 19th, 2014. Caltrans maintenance crews in the nine Bay Area counties will focus their efforts throughout the day cleaning litter alongside the highways. The California Highway Patrol Commercial Mobile Road Enforcement units will also focus on litter enforcement, and educating drivers to cover their loads.

Caltrans employees will be work at various locations around the Bay Area including the following:

Alameda County
Highway 580 Hollis St/Mandela Pkwy to Wood Street

Contra Costa County
Highway 4 from Highway 680 to Willow Pass Road

Marin County
Highway 101- Highway 1 to Sir Francis Drake Blvd.

Santa Clara County
Highway 101 from Highway 880 to Great America Pkwy

Caltrans is partnering with several cities around the Bay Area, including Livermore, Fremont, Hayward, Oakland, Vallejo, San Jose, Cupertino and more.

They are encouraging individuals, organizations and businesses to join us in litter abatement and recycling activities in your local community from Thursday, June 19, 2014 through Thursday, June 26, 2014.

The Sheriff should have the inmates pick up trash out in East County along the roads. From Oakley to Byron on the main roads that look like a dump. Maybe even some Section 8 people to give a little back to the people who support them with housing, credit cards, food, transportation and such. It’s not like these people are too busy.
