California Nurses Endorse Monica Wilson for County Supervisor

by ECT

ANTIOCH, CA – Monica Wilson, candidate for District 3, Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors, announced that she has earned the endorsement of the California Nurses Association.

“Monica Wilson is a champion for Contra Costa nurses and patients.” said Kati Johnson, a Perinatal RN at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center. “The California Nurses Association’s is proud to endorse Ms. Wilson. She is committed to ensuring that our patients receive the care they deserve and that nurses have the support they need to continue serving our community. We unanimously support Monica and we know she is the best candidate to deliver real results.”

The California Nurses Association, together with the National Nurses Organizing Committee and the AFL-CIO, has more than 86,000 members in hospitals, clinics and home health agencies throughout the country. As one of the nation’s fastest growing labor and professional organizations, CNA has grown by nearly 400 percent in the past 15 years.

“I am grateful to have the support of the California Nurses Association.” said Monica. “The compassion and work ethic of nurses is what inspires me to fight for what’s best for our community.”

The California Nurses Association is another strong endorser backing Wilson, who has already received the support of State Controller Betty Yee and Board of Equalization Chairwoman Fiona Ma.

Replace the word cop with nurse in this article and you will see Monica is no champion of anything. Just like she is committed to police right? How is that working out for us in Antioch? She has not delivered one result for Antioch and should not be supported by anyone in the County Supervisor Race or her City Council race this year. She is a failure. All talk, no results.

I liked this woman and she presented change in Antioch and has failed those who believed her. Fool me once, fine. But you won’t fool me twice.

100% hilarious and accurate @Jim

Saw this on my Facebook feed, this was a rigged endorsement. They didn’t even invite all the candidates to interview. How is that fair? The public should be aware how endorsements work and how little they actually mean in the scheme of things.

@EB Insider,

The CNA is allowed to endorse anyone they wish regardless of what you or I believe is a fair process. They have picked their candidate based on their agenda and priorities. Rigged is a strong word. Maybe they did not feel all the candidates were worth interviewing based on their membership priorities.

Just for the record, who do you know they did not interview?

East Bay Insider Mar 22, 2016 - 11:30 am

@ECT,

Maybe you should ask them who they didn’t interview and they already had their mind made up.

Funny how state office holders can endorse her but everyone on her council is endorsing another candidate. People with no skin in the game support her because they do not see how ineffective she is. What has she even done for the CNA? Next to nothing. She probably got her connection through Jim Frazier who is backing her campaign (rumored).

Look at the endorsements more closely, few are actually from East Contra Costa.

Even more of a reason not to vote for her. Endorsements actually mean nothing. You can buy endorsements.

Endorsements from politicians and or organized labor always means special favors. No way would this candidate be a good choice. Especially because of the trash put Antioch has become.

I don’t care who endorses Monica Wilson, she will never have my support. She smiles nice for a camera, but has no substance.

Johnny Cochran Mar 22, 2016 - 1:42 pm

This endorsement is just another from a group that has little skin in the game and doesn’t know the candidates. They couldn’t begin to substantiate a reason to vote for Wilson other than a payback to known labor shill Jim Frazier. Voters in east county are onto the antics of Frazier and Wilson.

Frazier is the one putting money into her campaign. I doubt the nurses would try to match him.

Frazier’s political allies can be counted in one hand. Everyone has figured him out. It’s all about Jim and that doesn’t bode well for his future in politics.

Actually Mr Frazier’s attitude is likely to do very well for him. All politicians love themselves first and do what is best for them first over what is best for the public.
