Antioch Police Welcomes Two New Officers to the Force

On Monday, the Antioch Police Department welcomed two new officers to its police force bringing the total number of sworn personnel to 94. In a ceremony, police swore in German Blanco and Christopher Motle.

German-BlancoPrior to being hired, Officer Blanco was a Correctional Officer with the Napa County Department of Corrections for nearly 2-years where he gained his experience while working in custody. He completed the 179th basic police academy at the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff Law Enforcement Training Center in March 2016.

Christopher-MotleOfficer Christopher Motl grew up in Antioch and was an explorer with the Antioch Police Department between 2005-2009. He is a 2006 graduate of Antioch High School where he joined the United States Marine Corps as an Infantry Machine Gunner and served one tour in Ramadi, Iraq. While in Iraq Chris drove an MRAP and received an award for driving on missions for other squads as well as his own.

The Antioch Police Department is now at 94 sworn personnel whereas last May, it was reported by the Sales Tax Committee the police department had 87 sworn personnel which was 5-more officers than in October of 2013.
