At roughly 9:21 pm Saturday, East Contra Costa Fire responded along with the California Highway Patrol on a report of a pedestrian that had been struck by a vehicle on Highway 4 in the Town of Byron.
Engine 59 responded to the area near Bixler Road where they located a man down in the roadway. Patient care was provided and the man was airlifted to San Joaquin General Hospital.
The scene was turned over to CHP.
