At 9:06 am Wednesday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a pedestrian who was run over by a water truck in the 50 block of Camino Diablo in Byron at Diablo Ranch.
According to radio traffic, the pedestrian was alert and breathing, but complained of neck, back and chest pain.
Battalion Chief 5 arrived on scene to the man still under the water truck and requested a medical helicopter.
By 9:40 am, the medical helicopter lifted to transport the patient to a local hospital.
