Byron Highway Shut Down After Vehicle Crash, Power Lines Across Highway

At 9:30 am Sunday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a vehicle versus power pole crash at Byron Highway near Camino Diablo in the Town of Byron.

Upon arrival, AMR reported the crash was non-injury while Engine 59 confirmed power lines were down across the roadway and immediately worked to block traffic flow.

Engine 59 requested the Highway be shut down at Camino Diablo. PG&E was expected to be on scene by 10:15 am and possibly phone lines were also involved.

Update – PG&E on scene advising these are AT&T lines.
