On August 6 at 2:17 pm, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian in the 800 block of Second Street in the City of Brentwood.
Upon arrival, a young girl was located in the street after being hit by a vehicle. The vehicle had damage to the hood and windshield from the accident according to Battalion Chief Gil Guerrero.
A medical helicopter was requested which transported the female to a local hospital. The cause of the crash is under investigation by Brentwood Police.
The District also responded later in the evening to a report of a female being thrown from a horse which also prompted a medical helicopter response. This incident occurred in the 4400 block of Briones Valley Road at approximately 8:45 pm.
Firefighters arrived on scene where they located a female patient who was on the roadside after being thrown from her horse. The incident happened after the horse was “spooked” by a vehicle according to Battalion Chief Guerrero.
