According to the Walnut Creek Police Department, an arrest has been made in a fatal hit and run vehicle crash.
Police arrested Arck Marquez Ramirez Jr., 29 of Brentwood, in the incident.
According to police, Walnut Creek Police have arrested Arck Ramirez for the Hit and Run Collision that resulted in the death of Walnut Creek business owner Chung Thuy “Tammy” Lee that occurred on Saturday, October 1, 2022.
The Patrol Bureau, Investigations Bureau, and Traffic Unit worked tirelessly investigating this case to identify the driver. Investigators have since located the vehicle and arrested the driver thanks to tips from witnesses at the scene and images captured from nearby cameras. The involved vehicle was located in Brentwood and has been seized as evidence.
Ramirez was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility with a bail set at $300,000 on the following charges:
CA Penal Code 191.5(a) – Gross Vehicular Manslaughter
CA Vehicle Code 20001(a) – Felony Hit and Run with Injury or Death
This case will be presented to the District Attorney for a review of charges.

Walnut Creek Police Investigating Fatal Hit and Run Collision

On October 1, at about 7 p.m., WCPD Dispatch received several 911 calls reporting a vehicle versus pedestrian collision at the intersection of N. California Blvd. and Civic Dr. Officers arrived at the scene within a minute of being dispatched. The pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross N. California Blvd. She sustained major injuries and was transported by an ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. Tragically, the pedestrian succumbed to her injuries.
The suspect vehicle fled prior to Officers arrival. Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a gold or tan, four door sedan.
