Brentwood Police Say Fremont Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested in Southern California

by ECT

On 12/14/2021 at about 3:20 PM, the Brentwood Police Department responded to Fremont Bank located at 200 sand Creek Road for a reported bank robbery.

During the investigation, our officers were able to obtain surveillance footage of the suspect and identified the license plate of the vehicle the suspect used to flee the scene. The Brentwood PD Investigations Division responded to the scene and took over the investigation.

The following day, the Manhattan Beach Police Department located the vehicle within their jurisdiction. Three occupants, one of who was identified as 50-year-old Gino CIASCHETTI (Redondo Beach), were inside of the vehicle and safely detained. The clothing CIASCHETTI wore during the robbery was found in the vehicle.

The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office reviewed the case and charged CIASCHETTI with one felony count of robbery. On Saturday, December 18th, BPD Investigations Unit brought CIASHETTI back to Contra Costa County, booked into county jail held in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Police said the investigation has revealed CIASCHETTI entered a second bank in Brentwood prior to committing the robbery; however, exited before committing any crime. It appears CAISCHETTI did not act alone and the investigation is ongoing.
