Brentwood Police Nab Juveniles Who Assault CVS Employee, Good Samaritans During Theft Attempt

by ECT

The Brentwood police Department is reporting that on January 30, officers were dispatched to a report of a fight at the CVS on Balfour Road in the City of Brentwood.

When officers arrived, they investigated an incident where it was determined that a CVS employee was assaulted by a group of juveniles (ages 15 and 16) after a theft had just occurred at the store.

According to police, good Samaritans attempted to assist the store employee. During the assist, they were also physically assaulted and pepper sprayed during the incident; both were elderly.

The suspects had fled the scene in a vehicle prior to officer’s arrival. Paramedics arrived on scene and treated the victims.

Police say the suspects, who had fled the scene in the vehicle, were soon located nearby and stopped by officers. All three juveniles were arrested and booked at Juvenile Hall for several charges. Because the suspects are juveniles, police could not release their identities.

Recently, the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office filed the following charges against the suspects: assault with a deadly weapon and elderly abuse.
