Updated: Turlock Man Fatally Shot During Family Dispute in Brentwood

At 4:20 pm Sunday, the Brentwood Police Department responded to a report of a shooting that occurred on Sycamore Avenue in the Brentwood Parks Apartment Complex in the City of Brentwood.

Upon arrival, officers located a male in his 40’s that had been shot and down on the ground. AMR and East Contra Costa Fire Protection District provided life saving efforts, however, the male was pronounced deceased on scene.

Police are currently on scene and as of 6:00 pm, have not released any information on the incident.

A person of interest was in custody, however, police did not confirm any other details.

Brentwood, CA – on January 9, 2022 at around 4:23 pm, Brentwood officers responded to an apartment complex in the 1600 block of Sycamore Ave. to investigate a report of shorts fired.

When officers arrived on scene, they located a 43-year-old male from Turlock found outside suffering from a gunshot wound. Preliminary information revealed the male was shot during a family disturbance and later pronounced deceased at the scene.

The suspect responsible for the shooting was determined to be a family member and was detained on-scene without incident. The firearm used during the shooting as been recovered and the motive has yet to be determined.

This was an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.
