by ECT

The Brentwood Police Activities League is launching its newest activity in youth boxing.

The classes, which begins on Thursday is called Crunch and Punch Fitness and is located at 8368 Brentwood Blvd. The lessons are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm and Saturday is considered “open gym” for PAL Members.

Brentwood Police Officer Michael Rucker highlighted how he wanted to introduce boxing to the community in an effort to give youths more choices in after school programs.

PAL started off way back when as a boxing program in the inner cities then evolved into what it is today. So I wanted to bring boxing back into it and introduce Brentwood,” explained Rucker.  “There are PAL boxing tournaments all over the place. And this gym said they’d love to teach the kids.”

Classes are free and space is limited. These sessions open to 6th – 12th Graders.
