A Brentwood man was shot and killed Sunday at approximately 3:00 am in the 21200 block of Mission Blvd in unincorporated Hayward.
According to Sgt. Ray Kelly, deputies responded to a report of a shooting. Deputies arrived on scene and found an unidentified adult male victim inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics arrived and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to a GoFundMe account, Ajmal Faroqi was identified as the victim. As of 5:00 pm, $32,154 has been raised. All donations will go to his wife and his two young daughters to support them in this difficult time.
A motive for the killing is unclear according to Kelly. ACSO detectives are continuing to investigate the case which is possibly a carjacking attempt.
