Brentwood Man Arrested in Danville Armed Robbery

by ECT

A 20 year-old Brentwood man is facing charges after he allegedly held up a Danville teen at gunpoint. Danville Police Chief Steve Simpkins said the incident occurred on Friday, January 9, 2015 at the intersection of Old Orchard Road and Tweed Drive in Danville.

Police were called to the scene at 7:15 p.m. by the 17 year-old victim. The victim told police they met with the suspect as part of a marijuana sale. Instead, the suspect pointed a gun at the victim and stole the marijuana, a cell phone and cash before fleeing.

The investigation led police to San Ramon. San Ramon Police officers located the suspect’s vehicle and some of the stolen items were found in plain view.  A K9 unit from the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office was able to track down the victim’s stolen phone nearby.

The investigation led to the arrests of Adam Jones, 20, of Brentwood and a 16 year old juvenile. Jones was charged with armed robbery, probation violation and possession of stolen property. The juvenile was charged with being an accessory to the crime.

Chief Simpkins said he was very pleased with the quick-thinking of the officers involved and the cooperation between the agencies.  “We have an excellent public safety team here in the San Ramon Valley,” he said.  “And chances are, if you come here to commit crimes you will be caught.”

Jones is currently being held at the West County Detention Facility without bail. The juvenile was cited and released.

These stories keep referencing, Brentwood men, Antioch man, Oakley boy. The truth is all these people are from other places. They may list their last parking spot as one of our fine cities but the bottom line is, “they are not our residence” the are just scum going from parking lot to parking lot, cardboard box to cardboard box. All these bad ass criminals need to go to the Middle East. I bet the cry to momma then.
