Brentwood: Lawnmower Starts Quarter Acre Vegetation Fire

At 4:15 pm Saturday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District Firefighters were dispatched to a report of a vegetation fire off Lone Tree Way in the City of Brentwood.

The fire was located in the 30 block of Double K Road where they located a lawnmower on fire in a field with a quarter acre on fire. Engine 53 quickly arrived on scene and sprayed down a fence which was nearly on fire and protected several homes.

Engine 52 arrived on scene to assist in putting out the fire and mop up.

No injuries or damages were reported other than a few fence posts.

The East Contra Costa Fire Protection District reminds people to mow lawns or fields in the morning when temperatures are cooler explained Ross Macumber.

Lawnmower to cut “grass”, or what is street smart folks know is marijuana. Don’t be fooled folks, this fire was cause by none other than marijuana.
