Update: Horse Euthanized After Being Struck by a Car on Delta Road in Brentwood

Just after 7:00 pm Sunday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District was dispatched to a report of a vehicle crash involving a horse in the 2800 block of Delta Road in Brentwood.

Upon arrival, Engine 59 reported that two people were injured in the incident with one minor injury and one person released at scene. They also reported that a horse was severely injured and requested animal control.

UPDATE
It was reported that the horse had to be euthanized after being struck by a vehicle. The horse sustained a broken leg. Multiple veterinarians were called before one could finally arrive on scene. The rider of the horse sustained only a minor injury.

A horse is a pretty big thing to not miss. Those roads are so tight. Sorry about the horse.

Just up the road from where I live. I quit riding on the roads around here because people drive too fast and don’t have their heads stuck up their ass but on their phone! DON’T TEXT AND DRIVE.

Drivers drive way to fast in the area. I’ve witnessed 70+ mph. The county traffic engineers refuse to lower the speed limits. They now have blood on their hands. Hope the driver is charged to the full extent the law allows.
