The Contra Costa County Transportation Authority announced today that there will be upcoming lane closures on the Balfour Interchange project in Brentwood on Highway 4.
The closures begin Friday, July 20 through Sunday, July 22 between 10:00 pm to 4:00 am.
According to CCTA, construction crews will be switching traffic from the existing eastbound Highway 4 alignment to the new elevated eastbound alignment and eastbound Highway 4 on-ramp over Balfour Road.
CCTA is also encouraging drivers to watch for intermittent lane closures on Balfour Road starting Monday, July 16, 2018 through Friday, July 20, 2018 from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm as construction crews will be working on the electrical conduit installation and drainage systems on Balfour Road.
This is the final phase of bypass construction to improve traffic flow on Highway 4. The bypass projects on Highway 4 were developed cooperatively among the Contra Costa Transportation Authority, and the cities of Brentwood, Antioch, and Oakley to ease traffic congestion along Highway 4. T

Had they done this from the start, taxpayers wouldnt be spending as much to redesign this crap
That is totally out of line as that would require some sort of vision and our state wears bifocals.
Most people only think of today and not about the future. Thats why most people around here have nothing and rely on the State for handouts.
Can they fix the railroad exit to willow pass exit section to reduce traffic in the mornings????
